All new clients must arrange a free consultation or meet and greet so you can meet your walker and introduce them to your dog. This allows you to get to know your walker, who you may be required to access your property for their services, and for your dog to feel at ease knowing that their walker is someone their owner trusts, and not just a stranger letting themselves into their home!
Meet and greets last anywhere from 45-90 minutes, depending on how many dogs you have and how much care information there is to share about them. We are also required to keep a file for each of our clients regarding their pets health and behaviour, and this information helps us keep every pet in our care safe! So we will go through these forms on our initial visit with you.
What Do I Need to Prepare?
Wolfsounds provides all materials needed for our services, such as poo bags, treats, leashes, harnesses (for car travel) and 20m long lines for dogs still learning responsibility and freedom, but it is usually preferred that owners make their pets own equipment available so they can feel more comfortable with what's familiar to them.
The only things you need to ensure for your dog ahead of enlisting our services are:
Well-fitting collar with ID tag - displaying up to date contact details for yourself
Microchipped - also with up to date owner information (we ask for your dogs microchip number for our records too, so please have this available for the meet and greet)
Favourite toys or treats! - This is optional, but applicable to dogs with dietary requirements
If materials are provided, I am happy to include a quick clean-up service for dogs following wet or mucky walks, taking up to 5 minutes at no extra cost to dry paws with a towel, rinse or wipe muck or grit, and clean pawprints from flooring.
However, I would especially ask following walks in winter weather that a suitable bowl be provided to rinse paws of grit as it can be irritating and highly dangerous if ingested.
